Engine Swap?

Forum:

I own a F85 2 Litre petrol Fourtrak, but have just aquired a 1988 Sportrak with a duff 1.6cc carb engine.
Sportrak will not be directly in my hands until this weekend, so dont yet know the total extent of engine problem, but told its terminal!.
But I was just wondering??... would the Fourtrak engine fit directly into the Sportrak? are the bellhousing and transmission couplings the same?, also how many of the running components are interchangable between Four and Sport trak?

Sportrak Soft Tops from Monsoon

Forum:

Hi everyone

I have noticed that a lot of people who seem to want Sportrak soft tops believe that the rear roll bar must be removed to fit our folding rear section.
Just to let you all know that you dont :), this can be seen on our web site at www.monsoon4x4.co.uk Shok
If you have any other problems or questions, please give me a call.

Sporty help!

Forum:

I thought I would give an update on my Sporty whilst also asking for some help.
Having now returned from Iraq with a head full of ideas about what to do to my sporty, I have now set about carrying out some of the work. The carpets, rear seats and mudflaps have all gone now and home-made extended rear mud flaps are now in place which can be tied up for off-road use. New knobbly tyres all round have helped me complete a couple of circuits of the Army driver training route with impressive results.

Sportrak/fourtrak clock/inclinometer/voltmeter

Forum:

Hi all,

Does anyone know if the clock/inclinometer/voltmeter that fits in the centre of the dash on a FOURtrak will fit into a SPORTrak?? I've spoken to a breaker who thinks they're different, but im not convinced! (I can't see the logic with making the same things but in two slightly different sizes!)

Cheers,
Nat

Thank You & Farewell Hopefully

Forum:

Just wanted to say thanks to all for the help and tips I have picked up from this and the old daihatsu-owners site over the last 12 months.

Caught the 4x4 bug unfortunately and have moved on to bigger things (Kia Sorento, the 3.5 litre V6 is a little different to the Sportrak) but none-the-less the practicality of the Sportrak is what started it all.

Once again many thanks, and if any one is interested (although you should all have one already)
