I have noisy wheel bearings at the rear and am told that on my 05 SL (with ABS), I need to buy the whole hub which from Daihatsu which is £234+Vat - and I need both sides. This is close to writing the car off.
Can anyone advise whether this is definitely the case, or can the bearings be pressed out and replace with the existing hubs? If not - anywhere I may get hubs cheaper - or - would salvage parts be an option?
Please help - I love the little beast and don't want to have to scrap it!!

Sounds like a alternator whine, very harsh note like a washer bottle pump motor which starts 2/3 seconds after the engine has started. Once engine revs have dropped it quietens to a background whine. Not alternator, starter motor or water pump. Any ideas please.
I have a YRV (2004) 1.3 K3-VE model, and only recently when using the air con I find that after turning the air con off or stopping the car when I get home I find that there is water dripping into the passenger foot well.
Im used to finding water on the driveway floor from the air con units from driving other cars in the past, but this one is more bothersome as its in the car and making the footwell mats soaking wet.
Any ideas guys?? the weird thing is that this has only started to happen and I have had the car for 3 years now.
I've got a 2007 Daihatsu Sirion that needs engine and gear mounts replacement.

So the inevitable finally happened and my exhaust hast rusted though, just where the silencer meets the catalytic converter. Unfortunately after speaking to multiple garages, it looks like the individual part, the rear of exhaust from the silencer back, is not available, and the only was is to replace the entire exhaust. Does anyone have any experience with this problem/ know where to get hold of parts?

I am currently looking for a central locking fob. If you have one your not using I will be delighted to take it from you, or if you could tell me where to find one that would be great too. I would also like to hear about a universal replacement if there is one. The car I drive is a Daihatsu sirion 4trak 2004. I will upload pictures soon. Anyone know if any other manufacturers wheels will fit the Sirion Rally 2? I want a cheap, scrap set of steel wheels and tyres to put on my car whilst I get the alloys refurbished.
