I'm replacing the thermostat on my '98 Sirion 1.0l, am I correct in thinking after removing the air cleaner housing and standing looking from the battery side of the car when looking at the top and bottom hoses where they connect to the engine, the bottom hose seems to be the one where you find the stat...am i correct?
It seems unusual that the thermostat housing is actually connected to the bottom hose and not the top- or has somebody fitted them back to front?
I have a YRV 1.0, year 2001 with manual transmission. The gearbox is really bad, I often can't shift gears, the mechanic says I need a new gearbox.
I did not find gearbox for this car anywhere.
Is the gearbox for the Sirion 1.0 maybe the same? Or maybe the YRV 1.3 gearbox? Or any other cars'?
Hi Everyone, need help re parts compatibility for 2007 Charade. I bought a waterpump on ebay and the compatibility chart says it was the correct one. Unfortunately it was nothing like! I have seen other pumps on ebay that are from sirions,hijets,copens etc and they appear to be more of a match. Perhaps the pump body of the one i bought is generic but the plain pulley was pressed directly onto the pump shaft whereas mine has a ribbed pulley attached to a flange by 4 bolts.
My Daughter has a 2001 YRV here in Australia. When it starts up you have to sit and wait until the temp gauge goes above cold before you can drive off. I you try to it judders and has no power. Sometimes the Engine management light comes on but sometimes it dosn't. If you try to free rev the engine it sounds like it is flat spotting and then you get a petrol smell like an over choke from the old days.
hi ,i am losing coolant out what seems a little nick on inlet manifold is this possible on these engines ,runs great ,

Just taken on a 1996 Charade (G200) 1.3 GLXi with 80000 miles which needs front tyres, CV boots and CV joints for it's next MOT. No problem with the tyres and CV boots, having real difficulty identifying the correct CV joint to be looking for and the local Daihatsu specialist wants £700 each! Apparently, not available in the UK... My mechanic says the joints are the outer front CV joints on both sides needed. Any ideas where they can be sourced more cheaply or the existing ones repaired. If too expensive, will use this one for spares for my 1995 1.3. LXi with only 54000 miles.
Hiya, I have a 1989 Daihatsu Mira LS 4spd, gear shifter is really sloppy, the bushings look a little worn on the gearbox side, cable looks ok, hard to tell
Just wanted to know, are the bushes press fit? it looks like a big ring on the end of the cables, with a rubber bushing inside the ring with two large washers either side, secured with a split pin, Don't want to remove em till I have a replacement option
my materias clutch pedal has become very heavy.
its never been very light compared to my other car(nissan cube)
but just recently its like a brake pedal, cars only done 46000.00 miles
are all materias clutch pedals heavy
only driven mine so can not make comparisons, no judder or slip either.
could this be master or slave cyl seals
