My 1.0 charade doesn't seem to be getting warm, it used to warm up great, but since I have had the exhaust inlet gasket replaced it just hasn't been the same. I had the thermostat replaced but its just the same. Don't get me wrong the heater isn't blowing cold air but it really isn't as hot as it used to be. Could anyone please through any light on the subject , or is anyone having the same problem.
We have 2 Sirion 1.3 Series 2 cars with Auto Boxes and have not had one days trouble all the time we have owned them, Both where purchased with only 25,000 on the clock from new.
In my own experience I have found that if they are serviced regularly not thrashed and driven sensibly they will last for years
Auto boxes are no trouble at all so long as oil is changed from time to time, Most Sirion problems arise from neglect and poor maintenance not fault of the car.
my indicators, electronic windows, wipers and fan to blow air. stopped working but the headlights and hazard lights still work the stork is still working fine engaging in all the right places and I checked the fuses under the bonnet but I couldn't find anything to do with indicators. Any Ideas?
I have a 2000 Daihatsu Storia 1.0 Manual (EJ-VE engine, M100S chassis, Japanese import). It has developed a smoky exhaust problem recently.
On start up a significant volume of white-ish smoke with a noticeable but not acrid smell is often emitted from the exhaust.
However, this only occurs if the car has been left turned off for at least a few hours.
While i,m here...... This is probably an old chestnut but i will air it again. The radiator cooling fan on my 2007 charade seems to run constantly once the engine is up to temp and the green light on the dash goes out. At no time does the red over temp light come on. Previous to this car i owned a 2004 auto charade and the cooling fan never kicked in on that car! I have some history with the present car and i see from old receipts that the temp sensor and radiator have been changed in the recent past. Is this a problem? Will it develop? Have parts been thrown at it and missed completely?
My darling wife has just reversed our 2007 charade into a fence! The rear bumper plastic was pushed in and the only damage was to the small plastic fixing just by the offside wheel arch. It,s broken now and although i have pulled the bumper out so that it lines up again,it will move and show an offset with the adjoining panel. Does anyone know if this part is available?
Mother-in-law has an old 1999 Sirion 1.0 4WD that she drives here in Reykjavik Iceland. It’s a right-hand drive (continental) if that matters…
It overheated and when I checked it for her there was no (or very low) coolant. I filled it up and didn’t see any leaks. I then let it run for 3-5 minutes and there was a steady stream of coolant leaking from somewhere low down on the right side of the engine (right side if sitting in the car looking forward – left if standing in front of the engine looking at it).
Hi Guys can anyone give me an idea of how to sort out the following issue. I have just taken possession of a four track rugger. The car drove home fine when cold 60mph easy. However when it got to temperature it would not rev any higher than 2100 rpm 50 mph max. It is the same in any gear at any speed then it struggles to go any faster. I have a 42 year old diesel land rover so I am no stranger to fuel starvation issues. The engine revs up and pulls fine to 2100 it doesn't feel like fuel starvation issue. I suspect the previous owner had the same issue as there is a new fuel filter fitted.
