I have a problem, I managed (don't ask) to reverse at very slow speed into a road sign pole, as luck or the lack of it would have it, I have smashed the nearside most sensor.
I contacted my dealer, and they consulted the parts computer only to discover that the only solution is to purchase the optional extra parking sensor kit, including 4 sensors, a cpu box and all the associated wiring. Total Cost about £150. inc vat. (this is the part price and does not include fitting.

My 1.3 Charade seems to be using too much petrol. In litres and kms it is at about 8 litres per 100 kms and as I believe it should be at about 5.5 or 6 litres oer 100 kms. I cannot find a leak even though there is a slight smell of petrol when hopping out of the car. The little red warning light is usually on when driving and I have assumed that it is for the small back number plate that does not work, could this warning light indicate another problem within the fuel system? If so does that mean a visit to an expensive garage or is it something I can find? If anyone can suggest where to look for possible faults please let me know.
Recent bought a Grand Move Plus '97 and have no end of trouble getting it started. It will start on one occassion but turn it off and you can't get it to going again. Have tried all the usual new battery, plus, distributor cap. Can't find a manual for it either.

My problem just solved after some weeks of bother.
Symptoms: radiator fan would start ONLY for airconditioner running. Engine temp gauge reading OK, very steady at half scale. Engine running OK but! coolant loss, having to add over litre a week. No drips from engine bay when parked, external overflow bottle level correct when topped up, would be brimful after 30mins run but empty after abt 4 hrs driving.
I think I am having a fuel injection problem with my '89 charade 1.3 litre EFI hatch. If my car has been sitting for a few hours, it starts fine, but once driven and warm, then left for 20-30 minutes it will turn over for about a minute (battery almost flat), then start to chug and splutter and blow heaps of black smoke and gradually run, but really rough until I have been driving for a few minutes.

I have finally got myself a darling little Charade 1.3 EFI, '90 4 door model. The car is great to drive as I thought it would be. One reason I have bought one is that I need a cheap to run car that has high quality aspects and another reason is because I bought an about-to-be-wrecked 91 model two door model which I have all the receipts for since it was about 4 years old. This car has new shockers, radiator, tyres, etc etc, but also a heap of rust that made it impractical to keep going.
Hi, I have a 1990 Carade 1.3 EFi on which the idling speed is about 100rpm too low for comfort. I'm in Australia where these are a rarity and manuals even rarer. Would anyone be kind enough to tell me how to turn it up? Long time since I did any of this and back then i was all webber SU carbs and a simple turn of a screw - is it a simple as this on EFi?
I'm having a bit of trouble with my 1994 Charade CS. The engine revs up and down when idling. Has anyone had this problem before or can help me? Thanks
One year ago I bought a 1993 Charade TD 1.0, the limited edition (full of extras, as it was the last few cars from the old series). Everything was fine with it, and I fell in love with the little monster! But a few months ago it started to smoke heavily, and it's not accelerating as it used to. Although the 4-5 litre consuption is still fine in the city, but I'm getting a little worried about it. Some mechaninc said it could be the turbo, another one said it could be the cylinder rings. I use Shell 10W40 oil in it. It starts fine, runs smoothly, does not owerheat, although the exhaust has a little puffing noise in it. Maybe it could be the Catalisator? Rolling Eyes
