Heya all!.
Just a quick question, this is my second Daihatsu Applause, My first was an auto, and with it I needed to have the gearbox replaced once (Auto's don't like me) The gearbox place that did it put in a Toyota Corolla Auto that was virtually identical to the original Daihatsu one.

Because Daihatsu pulled out of the Australian market years ago, parts are becoming hard to find.

Anyone knows of a larger capacity engine that was/is a straight swap into the G11 without major surgery to the metalwork?

Of course the CB-60 had more poke but that was basically a 1000cc with lower compression and a turbo charger.

I'd be glad to hear from anybody who has done a swap or bored out the N/A 1000 version and tried further mods.

I've found some Eibach pro-kit performance springs for the Sirion.

I swear by these springs and would like to fit them to my '52 plate Rally 2, can someone tell me if the suspension springs have changed over the years because the kit listed is for '04 onward.

Getting used to the YRV now, Done pretty much everything i can to it in terms of ensuring it's tip-top maintenance wise. So far it's had:

2 oil and filter changes (5w40) in 600 miles (a better method than using flushing stuff)

Done 1 gearbox oil drain, managed to get 2 litres drained out. Used Comma Semi synthetic ATF. Will do it again at next engine oil change.

Just got myself a Sirion Rally 2....Great car but struggling with the non-adjusting steering wheel!!
Has anyone changed or adapted theirs?
I need more knee room and was looking to fit a Mono wheel but can't find the appropriate boss....any info would be appreciated.
