After 15 years ownership we are sadly parting company with Rocky ,a 93 TDX,still in showroom condition with 131,000 miles on.Purchased from Brook Daihatsu Huddersfield in 95.Owner serviced since 88K , changed timing belt at 120,000 miles, new rear leaf springs at 125,000miles, oil & filter every 1500 miles.New front calipers & pads, rear drums re lined,4 new glow plugs, starts on first turn of starter.Everything fitted still works, 4 matching tyres and still running on the original exhaust system! Interior like new with a rare oem tonneau cover and rear roll cage.
Lookin to buy my first Fourtrak in the next week or two. I was wondering if someone could point out the main advantages/disadvantages of the Independant TDX and the Fieldman TDL.
I'm looking at 1996-2000. I've noticed the Independant has wide arches...
Just bought a 1986 Practical Motorist from Ebay - thought I'd share it with you all, unfortunately for me, it's the petrol version. Notice that it gets a fine review in the PM verdict!
just had my first proper byway session today and what fun it was and and was so suprised how well my little sporty done out for 6 hours and about 12 good lanes and was stuck solid once but a little digging and the help of a small 4 ton hand winch was free in no time as only have a 2" lift and 195 road tyres just shows that picking route and taking your time does work as a lot of the track had been well used by the bigger tyred veicles very happy sporty owner
I've just got myself a second hand set of side steps, although I fear they are from the last of the earlier <'93 model Fourtrak (mines a 96/97)
The brackets seems not to fit the chassis correctly...the longer bracket for the front of the steps needs a bolt hole...do I need to drill the chassis for this? as I cannot seem to find a suitable hole towards the front of the chassis?
