I Blew the Head Gasket on my charade the other morning and
as the car is not worth a great deal I would like to do the work myself but am having trouble getting a breakdown of the engine and the torque settings.
Does anybody know where I can obtain either a manual or diagram and also has anybody suffered the same problem and if so what was the damage caused. was it confined to the gasket or did it damage much else.
I have a persistent rattling behind/underneath the drivers dashboard on my 2004 Charade.
It only rattles on certain road surfaces, but it can be really noisy. All my mates can hear it but when I take it to be looked at, the Daihatsu garage claim they can never hear anything...despite me telling them exactly where to take the car....
I'm really fed up with it. Also the boot has started rattling now and is a little loose.
Hi I have a charade sg and am having problems with distributor adjustment. The engine is an HCC. Correct me if I am wrong; the procedure i am using is connecting no. 1 lead to a strobe gun. While the engine is running (idle speed), I adjust the distributor by making the crank shaft pully markings aligned. I am not sure if i need to diconnect a pipe from the carburator! After some kms the engine starts to misbehave again and I have to repeat the above procedure. Am I doing the right thing? Can anybody tell me from where I can get a workshop manual.
Hi everyone, I know this is a UK site but I hope it doesnt matter much! We dont have many Daihatsu's here in the states anymore, making it a bit tougher for me.
Bought a used 1990 Charade SX 1.0L a few months back, great condition for its age. I replaced the oil filter gasket on it as it was leaking oil very badly. After this fix and new tires / air filter later, it ran like a champ.
Ok so to be really honest, i feel pretty dumb asking this one, but hopefully you guys know the answer right up.
Just done an engine swap on a G200 94 charade (EFI), and now sports a running version of the 1.3l HC 4 cylinder. (the original was seized by the previous owner).
everything is in and it starts fine. I have shorted the ECU jumper on the right hand sid of the engine bay (Australian model) and set the base timing as the specs say. So how do i back the idle back to 800-/+ 50 RPM?? I can't see an idle stop adjuster, there's one on the throttle plate, but it appears to be controlled by a vacuum device (for fast idle?) and has no affect on the base idel. There's a screw on top of the intake body, that when adjusted certainly affects the idle rpm, however i thought this was a mixture screw, not idle adjust? It's such a simple process of tuning, but i need to know the thing to adjust to get the base idle down to factory specs? (as it sits at 1200 - 1300 currently).
does anyone have a information about this valve stem...i'm searching everywhere but i cannot find the valve stem..i need help ASAP.
