We have a 1998R Cuore (849cc manual). A clattering noise was coming from the alternator and now the battery warning light has come on. On the last trip we lost all electrics, so we are presuming the alternator has finally packed up??
Does any one know how much an alternator is, where to get one (don't really want to have to go to Daihatsu to get it fixed), and how easy it is to fit?
i have just done a timing belt on a 3 cyl 1.0l charade and i think i have not put the distributor back in properly ( i had the head off to replace the head gasket ) does anyone have a copy of how to set the ignition timing.

I just got a used Daihatsu charade CS sold to my from my friend. I just want to know if it's just normal to refill the radiator with water everyday ('coz I'm doing it). Is there a way or some accessory which I can attach to it so I can determine the water level of the radiator at the driver's seat?

I have just imported a used 2002 K3VE YRV from Japan to Sri Lanka, where I live and it didn't come with a key. So now I can't get the car started and its pretty much useless to me.
Was wondering if any of you would know how to set up a bypass normal starter system, where should I lose or misplace a key I can simply get another cut? As we don't have a Daihatsu dealer in the island and I have no clue how to get a key with the embedded chip?
Currently I have some problems with my automatic gearbox, and I want to share it with you that you know more about the AT gearbox and that you know how to troubleshoot the gearbox!
At first I will describe the issue.
When my ride is standing more then 12 hours and when the weather conditions are "specially" (means cold = less than 10 degress celsius). When starting my ride under this conditions I first reconice that any gear I going in VERY hard, so I mean it makes a lound nois like "clonggg" and after putting in the "D" drive the "D4" Led will flashing. In this condition the gearbox DOES NOT switch to any higher gear then the 1st one.
