I think my ignition control module is out. Can you tell me where this part is located on a 1990 1.3L Charade?

I have had my Daihatsu hijet 993cc 1993 since June this year we where having a few problems starting it over xmas and got a local garage out who said it needed a service which we had done.I work as a childminder so I don't do long runs in the car. Within eight days of this service and about 20 miles the car broke down. After this it wouldn't start then when it did the car is blowing constant thick white smoke. The local garge won't accept any liabilaty and they say it will cost around £700 to fix but they haven't even looked at the car.

What Started, with what was thought to be a bad spark plug causing rough idle, has concluded with a red-hot glowing exhaust manifold.

Can anyone tell me if the lump has to come out to change the clutch, or if there is *just* enough room to split the bellhousing off & change the plate & cover with the engine in situ?

Looks tight from what I've seen.

Has anybody succeeded in replacing the tachometer in a charade g102?

or repairing the original one?

as fair as i know we are talking a 12pins silicon chip that overheats due to a large resistor that heats the chip up.

anybody got any good ideas?

i was thinking of finding a dashboard from another car, with same scale and size and perhaps fit it in somehow?

How about buying one of those universal tachometer kits and replacing everything? ( i guess it will be placed around the camshaft?
