I have an M reg 1.3 GTi automatic Charade which runs fine when it's been running for a while but is very slow to pull away when cold - engine starts and revs fine but there's no drive. It also clunked horribly into reverse a couple of times last week - again, no problems at all when it's been running for a while.
Any clues? In a manual, I'd suspect the clutch - is it likely to be a similar proble
i have a diahatsu terios 1.3 00 reg could any one tell me what is the correct way of timing the engine during cambelt replacement as the i have accidentally lost the correct position, i can find the tdc mark on the crakshaft and line that up but how do i find the correct position on the camshaft
My girlfriend has a 1996 Diahatsu Applause that we are experiencing a hard to rectify cooling problem After a replacement engine was fitted. The car overheats sporadically but almost always there's a quiet bubbling/gurgling coming from the outflow resevoir upon stopping. I think this is a problem with coolant flow; the bottom radiator hose feels almost cool to the touch while the top one is extremely hot.

Hi, I have had a 1998 TDX since almost new. Been wonderful until this week. Dashboard lights, rear lights, and front sidelights all failed. Changed the fuse but all failed again within a mile. Repeated twice more. Auto electrician says he cant do anything until they fail all the time, ie, as soon as I put in a new fuse.
My helpful mechanic has checked the earth straps and tidied up some wiring near the n/s rear light......still all failed after half a mile!
Charade j reg 91 - radiator fan not kicking in when driving
Hi all,
I have a 91 J Reg Charade 1.3. Im no mechanic, so a little patience with me please .... !!
I have a problem with it overheating, but the strange thing is, it only overheats when I'm actually driving it. If i'm on a forecourt or whatever, and get it up to temperature, the fan kicks in when it's supposed to, but when I'm off and about, it just keeps getting hotter, and boiling the water!!
ive just had the head gasket replaced and a new thermostat, but it takes along time to warm up, the gauge reads a quater, but the heater is only warm. can anyone help
