The front CV just started making noice when turning. If I replace the boot immediatly, will the joint be ok? Or, does the joint now need to be replaced? I don't want to spend any more on this car than necessary.
I am having a problem with my Daihatsu Applause 1991 when I have a cold engine. It seems that when starting the engine in the morning, it kicks off straight away but engine Fast idle speed does not increase on starting the engine. In fact when I try to lightly rev the engine it just lowers the revolution. On second slight engine reving, the engine revs and after which idle speed increases slowly to the normal fast idle of 1500rpm. Note that the engine is equipped with carburettor with automatic choke.

I have a 1992 Applause (Well my Missus has) Now and then it just doent want to start. Very intimitit. We could go for a week and no probs and then just wont start. We leave it for 5 min or so and away it goes. When it does start though there is a strong smell feul as though it was flooded. It has been to two mechanics and currently at an auto electricion and know one can work it out. The electrician says its not the fuel pump.
My 1991 Charade is very sluggish. Sometimes, it barely moves from a stop. Sometimes, it won't downshift very easily either. I took the catalytic converter off. That didn't help. I'm wondering if a have a sensor problem that is causing a lean condition. Are there any other typical problems that can cause this behavior?

The engine management light comes on when i slow down even before i press the brake and when i go over 55mph
i lose all power the engine is still running when i stop or slow down it picks up again.Any help would be greately appreciated.

My Fuel gauge is always reading incorrectly and i believe that it is a calibaration problem.
The Dealer has already replaced the Fuel Sender unit but a few months later the problem re-occurs.
The problem:
When the car is filled to the brim, the meter still sits below the FULL line.
It used to sit clearly above the line. After driving 20km the needle has already started to drop. By 50km, its indicating that the first quarter tank is already used up.
Hi all I have a 1990 Daihatsu applause 1600LI sports Limited Edition and I have just put in new Brake pads in the rear and after screwing up the handbrake I now dont have one. can anyone help me out there. Thanks and await you suggestions and help
