Service Manual CD

Forum:

Have just received the service manual. Super service Lurch - I owe you a couple of pints for the extra postage cost next time I'm over your way.

The manual is excellent and covers all aspects up to the intro. of independent front suspension (up to mid 1993 in Aust.)but even later models I think would be covered except for the front suspension.

Whilst naturally the pages are photo copies, everything is legible.

Trying to find a roof rack & cycle carrier for a Fourtrak

Forum:

Can anyone suggest where I can get a roof rack for a Fourtrak lwb E(88)? It only needs to handle relatively light loads; eg ladder, lengths of pipe, wood etc.
Also how good are the cycle carriers that mount to the spare wheel? Are they ok for A roads/motorway? Will I need a light board, or are they sufficiently high enough?

Fourtrack/Sport track Spotlights

Forum:

As an ex mechanic, the problem is a simple one. Like most of you I originally wired my spotlights via a 4 point relay with the switching wire to the main beam wire of the headlamp connector with the same results as most of you.
O.K. The answer This is a simple solution really. Firstly wire up your relay as per the instructions ( make sure the wire carrying the in line fuse holder is of a sufficient amperage for the current 30 amp wire should do it )then run the switching wire( the one you are told in the relay instructions to connect to the main beam on your headlamps ) through the bulkhead on the nearside, where under the dash, bolted onto the side of the car you will find the headlamp dim dip relay.

Heater matix price scandal

Forum:

I needed to fit a new heater matrix to my wifes sportrak and was quoted any where between £15 to £75 secondhand. The £15 one had gone the morning I turned up to remove it and one at £20 turned out to be a fourtrak one. Then someone helpfully e-mailed me with the number of a company who supplies them for £57.50 plus vat and carriage new! The company is called motorads of Redditch and are contactible on 01527 65182. They make them in batches of 5 so they should have a few on the shelf. Well worth fitting a new one at that price as its a ball ache of a job, even worse if you were paying for labour.

Fourtrak Service Manual Details

Forum:

Does the above manual as advertised by LuRcH cover everything regarding the Foutrak including part numbers. I am not interested in the engine details as the Fourtrak we have has a Chev V6 engine installed. Part numbers would be very useful as in Cape Town Daihatsu is not very helpful when we go and talk to them.
