Wife starts car this morning and gets to end of road and realises its stuck in 1st gear and there's no number on the display. After a restart, all was ok and has been all day. I checked the battery voltage earlier, 12.02 volts adfter being sat for 2 hours, and 14.4 volts whilst engine running. During cranking, the voltage drops to 10v. Went out earlier and it was fine.
Hi I wonder if anyone could please help me, the plastic lens cover on the rear drivers side light has broken in half. Does anyone know where i could get a replacement?
This noise is a kind of hyrdraulic/pshhh kind of noise which sounds like it comes from under the dash or down by the pedals. It only lasts for appprox 1.5 seconds and doesn't seem to do it from cold.
It only occurs once and happens after I move off from a Stationary Position.
Well, having just replaced the valve seals and had the head skimmed etc, the car is still as smokey as it was. The next obvious thing is the piston rings which i will have to replace.
Nosing about under the car, it looks as if the sump can be removed and the pistons removed without taking the engine out. Anyone know if this is possible?
I thought my YRV had an individual problem....the front of the offside rear seat section sits about an inch lower than that of the nearside section.
Then I noticed the same thing in the pics of a YRV for sale on eBay.
Anybody else have this problem, and more particularly, does anyone know what causes it? I can't get enthused enough to take out the seat base cover to investigate.
Hi everyone, I have a Charade on '03 plate. I've had problems with my front L/H brake calliper binding for a long time. My fella has tried locating one for me, but can't find any at all....he's even been told Daihatsu don't do them any more! He's the manager of an autocentre, so you'd think if anyone could get them, he could. He frees it off and does what he can from time to time, but I need a permanent solution to this problem.

Just purchased a 1993 Charade GXi (G102) petrol fuel injection.
Problem that is bugging me is the Rev counter;
When you switch the engine on, the rev counter needle immeadiately swings round beyound 9000RMP and basicallt goes round till it stops against the plastic. After a bit it will suddenly go up to the 8000RMP mar and may even go slowly towards the 7000 RPM mark.

i have a yrv turbo for 2 years and this is his first problem......
when putting it into reverse it takes about 2/3 seconds to select the gear then a clunking sound and it seems to force it into gear.....and gets worse as the car heats up.
